When you decided to read the blog you’re probably interested in a study abroad. I know, the ‘’abroad’’ part might be a little bit scared, but it isn’t. It will be one of the best time of your life. To successfully start your study abroad, you will have to do a lot of work in front. When you’re willing to the work, everything should be fine.

WHY NOT? It’s the perfect time to do your study abroad. Don’t push the idea forward like ‘’I will do it in a few years from now’’. Just have a look on the internet and go planning as soon as possible.

While you’re studying abroad, your friends are at home. You have to start from scratch and start making new friends. I know it might not be easy for some people to make new friends, but everyone has that feeling when they arrive in a new country. The fact that everyone need to start over again, makes it much easier to connect with each other. And I can tell you, you will make a lot of new friends. Sometimes that even results in a lifelong friendship.

Lots of universities supports their students if they want to go abroad. Depending on your school, there are a lot of different ways to get support e.g. scholarships or grants. In some cases, you won’t have to pay for the school in that semester abroad. You can ask your university about the partnerships. I suggest to save money for the period you’re studying abroad. There are examples where students get a job to cover the expenses. Depending on the country they offer good paying job for students.

4. Learn foreign languages

The most programs are taught in English, maybe not. Most of the universities offer free classes to learn their language. It can be very useful and fun to learn a new language. It doesn’t matter if you will forget the most of it when you go back home. But you will remember the basics and it looks good on you resume.

The value from your study abroad will also be a benefit for your personal resume. Nowadays companies are looking for something more than just a degree. What makes you different from other students is taking the possibility to step out of your comfort zone. Companies like that about people and you’re showing you are not afraid to try new things. The study abroad can give you the benefit from other students when you apply for an internship of job.
